Gyan leaves Sunderland for Al-Ain

Asamoah Gyan has completed a permanent move from Sunderland to UAE club Al-Ain.

The Ghanaian striker made a controversial loan move to the UAE Pro-League outfit last summer and has now put pen to a less-temporary contract.

"Sunderland AFC can confirm that Ghana international Asamoah Gyan has joined United Arab Emirates side Al-Ain on a permanent deal," a Sunderland statement said.

"The striker initially joined the recently-crowned Etisalat Pro-League champions on loan in September 2011 but will now remain in the Gulf state after the clubs agreed undisclosed terms."

It is believed that the Black Cats received £6million from Al-Ain when Gyan joined on loan and will get around the same amount for the permanent move.
