Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola was delighted with their performance after last night's 5-2 victory at Champions League rivals Sporting Lisbon.
Goals from Thierry Henry, Gerard Pique, Lionel Messi and a penalty from Bojan Krkic helped Barca to a comfortable victory, which also included an own goal from former Valencia defender Marco Caneira.
"Qualifying first in the group is very good news. We do not know who we'll play, but in theory it is always best to control the home leg," said Guardiola.
"We had a very good first-half and the second was strange, rare, it seems that we could have done more. It was settled by the own goal of Caneira. In general we gave a good impression.
"We hope to continue to do well in the next matches. I changed Henry for Bojan because I wanted to see him again, and Thierry had had a good first half.
"I had nothing to do with Gudjohnsen giving the ball to Bojan for the penalty. Martin Caceres played very well defensively, and I'm very happy for him . I do not want to say that he may be the replacement for Eric Abidal, there are more players and Sylvinho is the natural replacement, but it's nice to have options."
