FC Groningen are cutting short the loan of Manchester City winger Uriel Antuna.

Antuna joined Groningen 18 months ago on a two-season on-loan from City. But the deal is being terminated six months early.

Groningen chief Ron Jans said, "We are still dependent on the final message from Manchester City, but you can say that it is unofficial.

"It is better for Antuna to play football again."

Mexico U21 international Antuna signed for City from Santos Laguna.
