Former Italy striker Francesco Graziani admits he was against the appointment of Walter Mazzarri at Napoli.
Graziani says he would've chosen Igor Tudor, who also held talks with Napoli before Mazzarri was chosen.
He told Radio Kiss Kiss: "I was for Tudor, I don't like reheated soup. Mazzarri is very good, he saved Reggina with a 15 point penalty, it's as if he had won a championship.
"The 3-5-2 is in his DNA, but Napoli needed a new face, one like Tudor. Then Mazzarri has often had bad things lately. But he has the desire, he has enthusiasm and he would have come to Naples on foot. What penalised Garcia was the lack of empathy with the public, with society and with the environment.
"You could see from afar that there was something negative around him, his choices, the relationship he had with the players. Mazzarri brings curiosity, attention, self-esteem and enthusiasm. Then over time he will be able to try to make something of himself. Now difficult direct clashes will come for Napoli, but you will see that everyone will work with more enthusiasm.
"There are players who need to be revitalized and he will do it like the great professional he is."
