Gravesen questions Man Utd chances of landing Zidane

Former Real Madrid midfielder Thomas Gravesen can't see Zinedine Zidane taking charge of Manchester United.

Zidane has been linked with Erik ten Hag's job at Manchester United.

But Gravesen told Discovery+: "I spoke with Zidane in Madrid two years ago and told me that there are only three positions he would like to accept. And they are Marseille, Madrid and the French team."

The Dane played with Zidane at Real from January 2005 until the summer of 2006, when he left La Liga for Celtic.

"I was in Madrid two years ago and he told me exactly that. I also asked him if he was willing to return to coaching. And there he told me that there were only possibilities for those three.

"I would say that the team he had in Madrid was fantastic and he proved to be ready right from the start. At United the situation is different, it is very difficult to do something with the team that Erik ten Hag is building coaching at the moment.

"But we have already seen, and we have seen it in our little Super League, that if the right coach arrives at the right time, then the situation can change."
