New Chelsea boss Avram Grant is lining up Jamie Redknapp for a key coaching role.

The Israeli supremo wants ex-Liverpool ace Redknapp, now a Sky pundit, as an assistant to build bridges within his squad, says The Sun.

Redknapp is Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard's cousin and is the son of Grant's former boss Harry Redknapp.

Lampard, along with star striker Didier Drogba, is understood to be among a number of players who are unhappy with the way Jose Mourinho left the Blues.

And Grant hopes he will be able to smooth over any unrest by adding Redknapp to his backroom staff.
