Avram Grant is convinced sending on Nicolas Anelka late on into last week's Champions League final defeat decided his fate at Chelsea.

The Mirror says Grant is understood to feel that the decision that finally killed him off was not sending on Andriy Shevchenko during extra-time in Moscow, especially when Anelka, who did leave the bench, missed the decisive penalty.
