Granada coach Medina: We can't play a 45mins like that and expect to stay up

Granada coach Alexander Medina was left frustrated after their defeat at Getafe.

Two early goals from Mason Greenwood and Borja Mayoral set up the win for Getafe on Monday night.

Medina later said: "You have to evaluate beyond situations and be self-critical with the team. If we want to stay in the Primera Division we cannot play like we did in the first 45 minutes, we played very badly, I didn't like it at all.

"You can't give away 45 minutes against a better rival and give away the goals, I'm leaving with 'anger' as that first half was bad.

"In the goals I don't want to take responsibility away from the opponent, but there is more responsibility on our part than the virtue of the rival. When there are goals sometimes there is more virtue of the one who scores and less responsibility of the one who receives, but in this case there was a lot of responsibility for our part.

"There are many days left, I have self-criticism, but I don't want to stop at just that. We have been playing well for three games and in this second half the team looked with another intensity, positioning and game, but we lacked the efficiency to score a goal."
