Granada coach Medina finds positives in Atletico Madrid defeat

Granada coach Alexander Medina drew positives from defeat at home to Atletico Madrid.

Alvaro Morata struck on 54 minutes to earn Atletico a 1-0 win on Monday night.

Medina said: "I leave with mixed feelings, on the one hand, bitter and sad about the defeat and, on the other, calm and satisfied with the team's performance. We played a great game, the team competed and, in many moments, was better than the rival, but we have to win and we need points.

"I think the ref could have made other decisions, in Morata's goal I don't find many differences with Arezo's goal the other day. They are very fine decisions that are under interpretation. There are many situations that have determined against us.

"There is optimism, the last three games were good and invite excitement. We are not far from remaining in the game, we are only a little far away in points, two games away, but if the team maintains this consistency we are going to get many more points than we are going to lose.

"This is the path, this way we will be closer to achieving the goal, we have to continue insisting. Today we took a step forward, repeating good performances and bringing good results will fuel confidence."
