Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka is backing their move for Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane.

Germany teammates, the pair also played together at Schalke.

Goretzka told Die Welt: "He's a guy you want to have next to you in the important matches. He does not know the fear in these situations, but he is capable of performing.

"In Leroy's head, the most important thing is to play football successfully and win titles.

"We get along well with each other. Our friendship is not tied to football. I have known Leroy since the fifth grade. I see Leroy as a really good character, but it's also true that he is very special."
