Tottenham striker Peter Crouch hopes his midweek hat-trick in the Carling Cup against Preston will earn him a place in Tottenham's starting line-up on Saturday. The 28-year-old England international took his tally for the season to five with his hat-trick.
"When I'm given chances, I can only produce and try to stake a claim for a starting place," said Crouch, the summer arrival from Portsmouth. "I would be disappointed to be on the bench against Burnley, because I want to play every game.
"We've done pretty well this season, so I can't argue too much, but hopefully I've done enough."
