Gladbach confirm bid received for Arsenal target Xhaka

Borussia Monchengladbach chief Max Eberl has confirmed a bid has arrived for Granit Xhaka.

The London Evening Standard says Arsenal have tabled a £33.8million offer for the Switzerland international, although that figure is £1.2million less than Monchengladbach's £35million valuation of the 23-year-old.

Eberl has revealed Monchengladbach have received an official bid for Xhaka, although the German side have not reached an agreement with the unnamed club.

The midfielder, who has been at Monchengladbach since signing from Basel in 2012, was given a standing ovation from fans in the club's final Bundesliga match of the season against Darmstadt on Saturday.
