Shay Given is ready to leave Aston Villa.

The Irish keeper, 37, lost his place as No1 to American Brad Guzan just two games into this season.

And Given revealed: "I had a meeting with the manager and we both agreed I should be playing first-team football. And that's not happening at Villa right now."

Villa will not let Given go for nothing with three years left on the whopping £60,000-a-week, five-year contract he signed after his £3.5million move from Manchester City two years ago.
