Girona sports chief Quique Carcel is confident of coach Michel's commitment.

The Girona coach is being linked with Bayern Munich and Liverpool this week and has also been mentioned as a candidate to succeed Xavi at Barcelona.

But Carcel told AS: “He is doing very well and the fact that Girona is second already speaks for itself, starting with the players. This feeling that they may come for Míchel worries me little.

"I'm only focused on the game against Real Sociedad. This is where we have to be really focused. The coach is the first one who is focused on this. When you think about the next step, you are wrong. The coach is very calm, very happy... he wants to fulfill his contract until 2026 and that is the only thing he is thinking about.

"Once the last game is over, things can happen and we will have to prepare, but he will tell you the same thing: he is very focused on Girona. He has had a brutal growth here and he thinks he has a next step here at Girona. He is one hundred percent focused on the team's performance."
