Girona coach Michel was calm after their 1-1 draw at Real Betis.
The Catalans had the lead via an Artem Dobvyk penalty before German Pezzella struck on 88 minutes for the hosts. The result sees Real Madrid take the leadership from Girona on goal difference for the Christmas break.
Michel later said: "We played a great game against a great rival. In the first 50 or 60 metres we did very well and we were able to prevent Betis from getting off to a strong start. We have had chances but we lacked physical power, legs and on the ball. That's why they have been able to take a step forward.
"In the minutes that we have been able to run, in the final metres we have not been effective. Betis defends very well, including the back pass, and we haven't found that pass that would give us the 0-2 lead.
"In the pressure of the rival we have had unusual losses for us. We lacked mental clarity and we were not interested in the back-and-forth since Betis is a great team in that regard.
"The match lasts as long as it lasts and we also won points at the end. I am satisfied with the match, no one has won here and we have to take this point as good because the image has been good."
