Giraldez excited taking Celta Vigo job: I'm here thanks to the Celta Fortuna players

Claudio Giraldez is delighted taking charge of Celta Vigo.

Giraldez steps up from the B team after the sacking of Rafa Benitez.

He said at his presentation: "I coached the reserve team and I had to be available when the club asked me. It happened that way. I am very excited and very happy.

"It is the dream I had as a Celta fan and from Vigo. I feel prepared, in the end, this is football. It is a new category, I know there are those who will doubt it.

"I have had a very good reception, I have a lot to thank the club for being brave, the players for the welcome and the players I had until a day ago at Celta Fortuna, they are the ones who have brought me here.

"We are going to transmit enthusiasm and energy as we have done since we joined the club. I want to convey that courage, that ambition. The club has taken a brave measure and I am and want to be brave in my way of acting.

"I have told them that we have capacity and exciting days ahead. They have shown me a lot of affection. I am confident that we are going to do things well because I have a great squad, a club that supports me and a communion between fans, press and us, which I think is the key."
