Former Arsenal captain Gilberto Silva says they must keep their best players this summer.

The futures of star players Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil also continue to drag on, with the pair heading into the final 12 months of their contracts, and Gilberto underlined the importance of keeping them at the club.

He said: "If they decide to leave, it's their choice. It's happened in the past. It would be very disappointing for [Wenger], for us and everyone who wants to see Arsenal perform well.

"Keeping those players next season is very important."
