Ryan Giggs says Manchester United's players want to deliver an 18th Premier League crown to their fans to match Liverpool's record haul.
"A lot has been made of the chance we have to match Liverpool on 18 league titles," said Giggs. "Obviously that would be brilliant because 15 years ago I don't think anybody would even have dreamed that would have been possible.
"I think it probably means a lot more to the fans than us. As players you want to win trophies. Sure, it would be brilliant if we do match them, but that's not our motivation.
"You only look back on records when you finish your career.
"While you're in the middle of winning things or trying to win things, you don't think about stuff like that.
"But we know how important it is for the fans and it would be nice to win for them. We know how happy it would make them."
