Sunderland are set to close a deal for Juventus winger Emanuele Giaccherini.

The Evening Chronicle says Sunderland are set to clinch the £8.5m signing of Emanuele Giaccherini after the Juventus midfielder underwent a medical with the Black Cats yesterday afternoon.

With the fee already agreed between the clubs and personal terms settled with the player last week, Giaccherini visited Sunderland's training camp on the shores of Lake Garda to finalise his move.
