The Ghana FA have ended their attempts to convince Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah to represent the African nation.
Nketiah, who has been a star with the England Under-21s in recent matches, could have represented Ghana as a full international.
However, GHANAsoccernet.com reports that Nketiah is reluctant to make the switch.
The nation's FA have now shelved the matter, as they believe Nketiah wants to one day play for England.
He will now miss out on the chance to play at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar this winter.
While he is not in Gareth Southgate's England plans, he would have been in Ghana's squad had he committed to the West African country.
