Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard says his new contract signed last week has him "buzzing".

In his match programme notes for last night's defeat to Chelsea, Gerrard wrote: "I'm also buzzing because it's a fantastic feeling to have agreed the new deal I did last Friday. This is what I wanted. I want to see out the rest of my career with Liverpool.

"The main priority is to be successful and I want to achieve success at the club I love, starting tonight."
