Liverpool Football Club are worried that their inspirational skipper Steven Gerrard may miss the rest of the season. The 30-year old England midfielder has been out of action for a while now after having a groin operation but sustained a similar injury at training last week as he tried to get back to full fitness.
Gerrard was set to return for last weekend's clash with West Bromwich Albion but did not make the game and it is believed the Anfield club fears he may be forced out for the rest of the campaign.
A prognosis on his most recent injury issue is not expected until Friday which is likely to see him at least miss Monday's home clash with Manchester City.
