Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard felt his side lacked efficiency in their 0-0 draw with Everton today.
The Reds remained seventh on the league table, five points behind their Merseyside rivals, with Gerrard indicating perhaps he and his teammates were not at the top of their game in veteran defender Jamie Carragher's final derby before retirement.
"We all wanted (a goal) at the end, mainly for this fella (Carragher) playing in his last derby," Gerrard told Sky Sports 1.
"Everton have improved a lot. They've had a good season and are difficult to beat and that sums our season up in a way.
"We played well but lacked the cutting edge against the sides above us. We'll take a point but we're slightly disappointed it wasn't three."
