England midfielder Steven Gerrard admits their Euro2008 qualifying chances are now out of their hands after last night's defeat in Russia.

England need results to go their way if they are to qualify for Euro 2008 - Russia will book their place if they win their remaining two games while Croatia need just one victory from two matches.

A dejected Gerrard said: "There's nothing we can do now - it's out of our hands. Israel are capable of getting a result - but with them not being able to qualify, it's a difficult situation."
