Gerrard to consider Liverpool future after World Cup

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will weigh up his future at the club but not until after the World Cup. The England midfielder has sparked some doubt about if he will be a Reds player next season by saying he will ponder his next career move at the completion of the Three Lions' World Cup campaign which kicks off in Rustenburg, South Africa against the USA on June 12.

"I won't consider my future or think about what is going to happen to me until after the World Cup," he told the Daily Star Sunday.

"After the World Cup you have three or four weeks of holiday to consider what the next best move will be for you."

The 29-year old has been linked with Spanish giants Real Madrid after he was very close to signing with Chelsea in 2004.
