George Thorne hopes to make a playing return for promotion chasing Derby County in the New Year.
The 21-year-old has been sidelined with an anterior cruciate ligament knee injury since July and cannot wait to get back playing for the Championship leaders.
"I'm so excited at the thought of playing in the side again," he told Rams Player. "The memories I have and the clips I've watched from last season, they get me through my rehabilitation.
"A few weeks ago I watched a couple of clips from last season, just to remind myself what it was like.

"Sometimes being out injured can get you down so I watched a few of the clips and it lifted my spirits, knowing I've got it all to come again to be back out on the pitch at the iPro Stadium."
