Genoa admit they're in the market for a new midfield signing.

Boss Alberto Malesani recently spoke of his admiration for Roma's Fabio Simplicio and the outfit have now confirmed he is the type of player wanted.

"I'm not hiding the fact that we are looking for a new midfielder," sporting director Stefano Capozucca said.

"We are looking to give Malesani the elements that he needs to improve the team."
