Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has declared a deal is close for Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni.
The veteran centre-forward is set to sign permanently with Genoa.
"With Toni we have agreed a deal in principal, so now we need to discuss the details," said Preziosi.
"They are important details but we should seal the deal soon."
