Genoa president Enrico Preziosi is happy to be remaining in Serie A.

However, Preziosi has refused to confirm Davide Nicola for next season.

He said, “I don't think about the future at the moment, I have to find the person who will carry on with the project and give him the opportunity to make decisions."

Preziosi continued: "We saved ourselves and that was important, our squad are better than our position.

“We made some mistakes, from the coaches to the club.

“This year I will make some considerations, I need to detach myself from this world and I would like to take a step back, leaving others with the possibility to do better.

“Genoa have been for sale the last three years, everyone knows it. I would still like to detach myself from the management of the club, regardless of the sale.

“The club keeps me very busy; everything comes to an end."
