Genoa coach Alberto Gilardino was tightlipped on his future after last night's 1-1 draw at Fiorentina.

The former Viola striker was happy to return to his old club and earn the point.

Gilardino later said: "I have lived important years here, we have and I have played in the Champions League, we have experienced wonderful moments, it has been an exhilarating journey.

"Today was truly special, but I am happy to have returned as coach of Genoa. I am happy with the match played, it wasn't easy even after the latest results obtained, we give continuity of performance and attitude."

On his future, Gilardino said: "I repeat what I said, when there is news, both I and the club will communicate it with great serenity. Now my energies, those of the staff and the boys are to finish the championship in the best way, we have the desire and the obligation to do so.

"The Genoans have an incredible passion for this team, we reflect ourselves in them and they in us."
