Genoa have trumped Chelsea for NK Maribor defender Luka Krajnc.
The 16 year-old talent has been likened to AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta.
Genoa president Enrico Preziosi confirmed the signing yesterday, "It was settled at midday. It was an exhaustive process as we needed to convince both his club and family.
"But we are very happy."
Chelsea were expected to snap up Krajnc after striking a partnership agreement with NK Maribor before Christmas.
