Genclerbirligi midfielder Mile Jedinak understands he must improve in the next year to be considered for the Socceroos 2010 World Cup squad.
The former Central Coast Mariners man has plenty of good players to contest with for a spot in Pim Verbeek's 23-man squad to travel to South Africa and he knows he will have to get better.
"I will need to improve all aspects of my game in the coming season," Jedinak said.
"This is a big season coming up. If I do well for my club hopefully it will be good enough to get me a spot.
"I like to think I bring something a little different from the other boys, not better but different, but it's up to me to keep improving, to sharpen up my game or I won't be going to South Africa.
"I don't really compare myself with anybody in the team: I have my own style and hopefully it's what Pim is looking for.
"I probably need to improve every aspect of my game because if I get selected for South Africa I want to be ready to step in and do myself justice."
