Manchester City midfielder Gelson Fernandes is prepared to bide his time for a first team chance.
Gelson was outstanding in midweek for Switzerland in their victory over Holland and told Le Matin: "I know that I have to carry on working. And that's what I did on Thursday afternoon when I resumed training with City.
"I know that my time will come. And I will be ready."
City boss Sven Goran Eriksson was delighted for Gelson's international breakthrough and the midfielder added: "He congratulated me for my first cap and asked for a DVD of the game. He also said that he was proud of me."
