Gian Piero Gasperini feels Inter Milan have suffered a reality check this season.

The former Nerazzurri coach has always insisted the current squad needed regenerating - and now feels justified in his criticism.

"A reshaped Inter? I think I do not have to say much about this. From the beginning of the season they thought to repeat the things done for years would be sufficient, the signals from the previous year were ignored.

"Now people see the problems, when previously everyone believed they would be super competitive."
