AS Roma boss Rudi Garcia was happy to test his youngsters yesterday in defeat to Genoa.
Federico Ricci and Tin Jedvaj received their first Serie A starts, while Luca Mazzitelli came on as a substitute for his debut.
"There's a long road ahead and a lot of work to do, but Mazzitelli also played over half an hour. They have more experience now and we've got a better idea of what they can do," said Garcia.
"I don't believe talent waits for age. We chose some young players this season and others who were not as well known, but they proved that they were up to the task.
"We have to analyse what is missing from this squad, but above all more quantity and quality, as we will be in the Champions League from September."
