Potential Chinese investor Gao Jisheng has hinted Southampton owner Katharina Liebherr is reconsidering selling up.

Gao's company Lander Sports Development has been in protracted talks over a £210m deal for Southampton Football Club during the past year.

"It is not clear at the moment. The seller is having second thoughts about selling the club," Gao reportedly told Reuters on the sidelines of an event in Beijing. He declined to comment further on the deal.

Liebherr remains committed to leading the club forward, but has indicated she is prepared to sell at least a significant stake of her ownership if the price is right.
