AC Milan face a battle prising Paulo Henrique Ganso away from Santos, admits vice-president Adriano Galliani.
Galliani has confirmed they're trying to close a deal for the rangy Brazilian attacker.
But he admits: "We still have to make a formal offer.
"Clubs are quite rich in Brazil now and they tend to resist releasing their players."
