AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has reaffirmed their support of youngster Yoann Gourcuff ahead of potential signing Emerson, of Real Madrid.

He said: "We will sign one player, certainly. We think that the entire squad is covered and too much competition would only create problems.

"For example, look at Emerson. Who would he push out of the side? I doubt Gennaro Gattuso and Pirlo, perhaps Massimo Ambrosini or Seedorf, certainly Yoann Gourcuff, who would be sent to the stands. We prefer to defend Gourcuff."
