William Gallas is set to miss the rest of the season at Arsenal.

The defender, 32, re-injured his calf muscle in the first-half and had to be carried off on a stretcher.

Emirates chief Arsene Wenger said: "The rest of the season is compromised for him.

"He pulled his calf again, so it was a gamble that probably didn't pay off.

"It's the end of the season - I'm talking about Arsenal but I think he will be ready for the World Cup."
