Galatasaray president Unal Aysal admits they made an attempt for Arsenal striker Joel Campbell.
After a superb World Cup with Costa Rica, Aysal admits they sounded out Arsenal about Campbell's availability.
"Yeah, I wanted to bring him to our team," revealed Aysal.
"But Arsène Wenger wants to keep him in his squad next season. Therefore, nothing will happen, Wenger will not allow him to leave."
Campbell is already off the mark for Arsenal, having scored in the Emirates Cup last week.
