Gabri Veiga: Al Ahli fans and facing superstars so special here in SPL

Gabri Veiga says he's happy with his move to Al Ahli.

The Spain U21 attacker made the move in August from Celta Vigo.

He told AS: "In the end I've only been there for five months, but perhaps the best thing is to face rivals that you don't have the opportunity to do in the Spanish league.

"In Spain you do have the opportunity, obviously, to face great teams, great rivals. But, for example, I didn't expect to share a dressing room at such a young age with Mahrez, Firmino, Kessié, with all the stars on my team... It's a dream come true, because I was with FIFA or in front of the TV watching them play.

"And I also want to highlight our Al Ahli fans, who are one of the best in the Saudi league, they live it a lot and spend the entire game cheering with chants. It's something that amazed me on the first day, honestly. There were around 60,000 people against Al Ittihad and that support was very noticeable.

"Another thing that surprises me a lot is the level of the fields, because in those hot and humid conditions it is difficult to keep them so perfect. In other words, I didn't go to a field and see that it was a little weaker. What would improve, but does not depend on anyone, is the heat. In Jeddah I did not see the heat drop below 24 or 25 degrees. It's crazy, but it's all about adapting."
