Martin O'Neill's future at Sunderland is all the buzz in the Northeast.
The Daily Mail says Sunderland have quashed rumours that O'Neill offered to resign in the wake of his side's latest Barclays Premier League defeat.
A club spokesman said O'Neill had 'unequivocally not resigned' after West Bromwich Albion beat them 4-2 at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
For the third time in a month, rumours swept the North East, and Twitter, and several radio stations and news agencies reported O'Neill's departure as fact.
That news forced the club to issue the brief statement that O'Neill will be in charge for Tuesday's home game against Queens Park Rangers and he will meet the media at the usual pre-match press conference at the club's training ground on Monday.
