Further blow for Man City as Silva ruled out

Manchester City are suffering a mini injury crisis following news that David Silva will be unavailable for the next two matches.

The Spanish playmaker is still recovering from the knee injury he sustained against Newcastle United at the end of October which has kept him out of action for the past three City fixtures.

Silva was expected to be back in time for Tuesday's vital Champions League clash with Bayern Munich but manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed he will miss both Saturday's Premier League meeting with Swansea City and the visit of the German giants next week.

"David still feels some pain in his knee, so he's not able to kick the ball," said Pellegrini.

"We'll see if next week he can be ready at the end of the week.

"It will depend on the way he improves in the next few days."

The Silva injury news for the Bayern match-up only compounds City's midfield woes after Yaya Toure and Fernandinho received red cards in their last European outing against CSKA Moscow which has them unavailable for the must-win clash.
