Fulham wing-back Ryan Sessegnon makes history with PFA nomination

Fulham wing-back Ryan Sessegnon has made history with his PFA nomination.

Sessegnon has become the first player outside of the top flight to be nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award, since its inception in 1983, reports the Mirror.

Sessegnon, just 17, is the shock inclusion on the six-man shortlist after a standout campaign for the Cottagers.

The England Under-21 international has been a key player in Fulham's promotion push, having been pushed into an attacking role on the left side of the west London side's attack.

Sessegnon has scored 14 goals and added six assists in his 42 Championship games this term, ahead of Saturday's meeting with Brentford.

He is joined on the young player shortlist by Harry Kane (Tottenham), Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane (both Manchester City), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) and Ederson (Manchester City).
