Fulham want to re-form the old Tottenham management pairing of Martin Jol and Chris Hughton.
The Daily Mail says Fulham chief executive Alistair Mackintosh identified Jol and Hughton as the dream ticket when it became clear Mark Hughes was ready to quit. Jol was contacted, via intermediaries, to gauge his interest in replacing Hughes.
And the Dutchman is keen to take the job he was offered last summer after Roy Hodgson's departure. But he wants assurances from owner Mohamed Al Fayed over Fulham's transfer budget.
Jol will be offered a £1.5million-a-year salary plus bonuses to take over at the Craven Cottage club.
