Fulham signing Grimmer: Difficult to leave Aberdeen

Fulham signing Jack Grimmer admits he agonised over his move from Aberdeen.

Grimmer completed his switch yesterday.

He told the Scottish Sun: "It was very difficult for me to decide to go. I'm from Aberdeen and they've always been my club. I've grown up supporting them and I had a season in the Richard Donald Stand before I joined the club full-time.

"But I just thought Fulham and the Premier League was too good an opportunity for me to pass up. I looked at all my options and felt going to England was the best one. Leaving Aberdeen, though, was all the harder because of the fact that they give youngsters a first-team chance.

"At the moment I'm the club's youngest-ever player after coming on as a sub against Rangers at Ibrox when I was only 16. Just thinking about that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. It was amazing for me.

"I can't help but smile whenever I think back to it. I'll always remember the moment I got the shout 'You're going on'. "I'm really proud of that achievement and I've kept my jersey.

"I went into Pittodrie this week to say my goodbyes to everyone, the players and the backroom staff, and they all wished me the best."
