Fulham midfielder Gera can still make West Brom move

Off contract Fulham midfielder Zoltan Gera could still move to West Bromwich Albion.

His international coach, Sandor Egervari, insisted Gera will be fit to start next season despite fitness issues that forced him to miss Hungary's last two games.

Weekend reports had suggested knee ligament damage could keep Gera out of action for two months, creating an obstacle to a potential return to the Baggies.

But an ankle injury is believed to have been behind Gera's international absence with the knee issues not serious.

Egervari said: "I don't know if Zoltan had any problems with his knee.

"When he came home to the training camp of the national team he had an extensive medical check because he picked up an injury in his last Premier League game for Fulham.

"That is why he couldn't play against Luxembourg and San Marino.

"I'm sure that after a couple of weeks he will be ready to play again."
