Fulham lead the race for Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson.
The People says Craven Cottage boss Roy Hodgson has asked about Johnson and midfielder Gary O'Neil, in a double swoop which would be worth about £8 million.
Johnson, 21, was wanted by former Real Madrid chief Juande Ramos in the January transfer window, but that interest has cooled and Fulham are in pole position to sign a player on his way out of the Riverside.
The Cottagers would like to part finance the deal by offering striker Bobby Zamora to Boro, but Riverside boss Gareth Southgate is not keen.
