Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic wants to sign Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira.
The Daily Mail says Pereira is at the centre of a power struggle between the Cottagers' recruitment team and manager Jokanovic.
The Serbian boss is desperate to sign Pereira on loan after receiving a personal recommendation from United manager Jose Mourinho.
However, the transfer is understood to have been blocked by Fulham's data analyst, American law graduate - Craig Kline.
Jokanovic said: "I am not an important person in terms of recruitment, I have lost many players in the nine months behind me.
"Ask Craig Kline because I do not handle this side of the business, in the end the decision is not in my hands.
"I am not frustrated but I am a little bit surprised," the 48-year-old added. "He is a very important person in the club but nobody knows him.
"He should come from backstage and explain what we are doing in the football club."
