Fulham failed with a late bid for Middlesbrough striker Jeremie Aliadiere.

Boro were ready to let the French forward leave the club, and a deal to take the former Arsenal man back to the capital was in place.

A Fulham spokesman insisted last night that a deal for Aliadiere was 'not in place'.
